Three ways regular physical activity can help you control food cravings.
Firstly, regulating hormones.
The hunger hormone ghrelin actually decreases during physical exercise, which reduces your appetite and helps control food cravings.
Secondly, leptin signals to our brain when we're full. Physical exercise increases leptin levels and improves insulin sensitivity, helping to smooth out the peaks and valleys that typically make us crave high-carb foods.
Thirdly, physical exercise reduces cortisol levels – the stress hormone. Stress hormones like cortisol drive us to crave high-carb and high-fat foods.
So, if you're trying to manage your food cravings and struggling with it, I recommend exercising every day.
